Rewarding environmental excellence: get your business recognised
Ibec has recently launched its environment awards 2015/16. These awards offer Irish companies an opportunity to showcase any environmental initiatives they have undertaken in the last two years. These may include developing an environmental management system or changes in the company processes, products or services that have provided cost savings, efficiency and a benefit to the environment.
One of the benefits of winning an Ibec award is that the winner and runner up of each category will be entered into the 2016 round of the European Business Awards for the Environment (http://ec.europa.eu/environment/awards) run by the European Commission. This allows winners to promote their achievements at both a national and EU level.
Entry to the awards is free and open to all, members of Ibec and non-members.
The closing date for entries is Friday 6 November 2015 at 5.30pm.
There are four categories to compete in:
Management: for commitment to an environmental management scheme that enables the business to continuously improve their environmental performance.
2013/2014 Winner: Astellas Pharmaceutical Company Kerry Plant, Killorglin, Co. Kerry
Runner up: University College Cork
Product and services: for the development or implementation of a new product or service that is environmentally efficient.
